The 2013 V8 Supercars season will come to a close at the Sydney Motorsport Park on December 1-8.
Reigning champion Jamie Whincup will look to add another title to his collection and stretch his lead over Mark Winterbottom in the championship standings.
“It’s been a tough year for us, but the guys have worked really hard and we’ve made some good gains throughout the year,” Winterbottom said.
Winterbottom trails Whincup by 148 points in the championship standings, and will need to win the final two rounds to have any hope of taking the title.
“We need to win every race and hope that Jamie has a few issues, but that’s not a great strategy,” Winterbottom said.
The season has been marked by several changes in the championship standings, including a dominant performance from Whincup at the Bathurst 1000.
“It was a great win for the team, but it was also a great win for the sport,” Whincup said.
