IBEDC Distributes 55,000 Free Electricity Meters
The Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IBEDC) has launched a program to provide 55,000 free meters to customers.
Warnings Against Meter Tampering
IBEDC cautioned customers not to tamper with or bypass the new meters. Such actions are considered energy theft and may lead to penalties. The company emphasized strict consequences for those involved in extortion or illegal meter manipulation.
"Tampering or bypassing meters is illegal and will be dealt with accordingly," warned IBEDC.

This initiative aims to improve service quality by ensuring accurate billing and reliable energy supply.
IBEDC’s free meter rollout highlights its effort to curb energy theft and enhance billing transparency through better metering technology.
