FCC Proposal for C-Band Auctions
The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking public comment on a proposal to auction off up to 180MHz of upper C-Band spectrum for 5G and 6G.
  - The proposal aims to reconfigure the upper C-Band spectrum in the contiguous United States.
- The goal is to maximize the amount of spectrum repurposed as generational aviation safety upgrades occur in the adjacent band.
The notice seeks input on:

    - how much spectrum can be repurposed
- transition strategies
- coexistence with adjacent radio altimeters
- auction procedures
- licensing and technical rules for new wireless services
The FCC chair Brendan Carr is circulating a draft notice of proposed rulemaking.
