A review of Waterford's public lighting network is underway, with the report expected to be complete by early next year.
Director of Roads Gabriel Hynes stated that the review aims to determine the necessary upgrades for the problematic underground network.
"That report is being prepared at the moment. I would hope to have it by the end of the year or early next year. That will identify what resources we need to get our underground network up to an acceptable standard,”
Mr. Hynes also mentioned that there isn't an unreasonable amount of lights out across the county.
The review was discussed at the October meeting of the Dungarvan-Lismore District Council, where Cllr Thomas Phelan noted that issues with lights on Main Street, Friar Street, and Scanlon’s Yard in Dungarvan have been fixed.
Author's summary: Waterford's public lighting review to be completed early next year.
