Argentina's president, Javier Milei, has been given a unique opportunity to turn his reformist agenda into law.
After two years of governing with less than 15% of congressional support, Milei's La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and its allies in the centre-right coalition won a surprising midterm landslide, taking around 40% of the lower chamber and a third of the Senate.
The chainsaw got him this far.
Although still short of a majority, Milei is now strong enough to negotiate and pursue his mandate. To gain momentum, he must move beyond theatrics and build alliances.
