Kiselova Resigns as Speaker of Bulgaria's Parliament

Natalia Kiselova, a Bulgarian Socialist Party – United Left MP, resigned as Speaker of the National Assembly on October 29.

Kiselova had held the post since the first sitting in December 2024. Her resignation is a result of an agreement among the ruling majority parties to rotate the Speaker position.

According to the agreement, Boiko Borissov's GERB-UDF, the largest parliamentary group, will nominate Raya Nazaryan as the next Speaker. Nazaryan is currently a Deputy Speaker and previously served as Speaker of the 50th National Assembly.

Resignation is a consequence of an agreement among the parties of the ruling majority that the post of Speaker should rotate among them.
