Conducting the Count in the 2025 Territorial Elections
In the upcoming 2025 territorial elections, Yukon electors will receive two distinct ballots, separated by perforation, for regular and plebiscite votes.
Ballot Structure
The traditional ballot will list the electoral district, candidates, and their party or independent status, as determined by a random draw.
- Two to four candidates will be indicated on the regular ballot, depending on the electoral riding.
- The plebiscite ballot will feature the same size but a different design, including a blue stripe and clear marking.
- The plebiscite ballot will contain the plebiscite question and yes or no options.
Neither of the ballots themselves contain information identifying the voter.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Maxwell Harvey, the two ballots will be separated for electors at the polls to maintain the secrecy of the votes.
