Improved Public Safety in SLO County

San Luis Obispo County has opened a new public safety communications center, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday morning.

The 20,193 square foot, two-story building in Templeton will house emergency dispatch services for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office and San Luis Obispo County Fire Department under one roof for the first time.

County officials believe this consolidation will enhance and streamline emergency responses, especially during significant incidents, replacing two outdated and inefficient dispatch facilities.

Having both agencies in one building will greatly enhance and streamline emergency responses.

The new center aims to improve public safety in the region.
