Fighting Tigers Protest Playoff Denial
The Ironton Fighting Tigers football team and supporters protested outside the Ironton School Board office on Friday morning.
They were denied a spot in the playoffs by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, which made the decision on Thursday.
We are out here fighting, for our right to be able to play in the state playoffs.
Senior Zayne Williams, the team's running back and linebacker, expressed his frustration, stating that the decision was made by individuals who haven't achieved their goals in life and is now affecting the team.
Despite the setback, the team is still allowed to play their regular season games.
