A change of position on the pitch has led Cape Breton rugby player Brielynn Murrant to win the AUS most valuable player award with Acadia this year.
Brielynn Murrant, a product of Port Caledonia, was coming off a successful year, having won an AUS championship with the Acadia Axewomen in 2024, their first in nine years.
"I personally didn’t know where I was going to fall," said Murrant. "I didn’t know what position I was going to be playing, there were lots of things changing all the time, but I went with the flow.
Despite the uncertainty, Murrant's skill set and ability to play at the highest level of female rugby in Atlantic Canada ultimately led to her success.
