Wizards of the Coast has released a preview of the new Dungeons & Dragons 2024 Circle Magic mechanic in the upcoming Forgotten Realms supplements.
Published on October 17, 2025, the preview showcases the return of an older mechanic, circle magic, which will bring more utility and power to spellcasting groups.
Circle magic is a ritual art that allows spellcasters to combine their strength, amplifying and even reshaping some rules of magic.
This mechanic is similar to its debut in the 3.5 edition, and will be introduced in the new Forgotten Realms book for the 2024 edition of the game.
