MSU Strengthens Leadership in Aquatic Health
Mississippi State University is advancing research, education, and partnerships to positively impact local waters and global food systems through its second annual Aquatic Antimicrobial Resistance Workshop.
Hosted by the Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security and the Division of Agriculture, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine, the program builds on the success of last year's inaugural event.
- Over 40 faculty, graduate students, and professionals from 7 MSU departments attended.
- Representatives from 3 other universities and private companies also participated.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) occurs when microorganisms evolve to resist treatments like antibiotics, posing a major challenge to global food security and public health.

The 2025 workshop shared innovative solutions for combating AMR in aquaculture.
