Pelicans Center Kevon Looney Out with Knee Injury
The New Orleans Pelicans announced that center Kevon Looney has been diagnosed with a proximal tibiofibular ligament sprain in his left knee.
The injury occurred on October 5 during the team's preseason game against the South East Melbourne Phoenix in Australia.
Looney will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks, and further updates will be provided as appropriate, according to a team source.
Before signing with New Orleans this offseason as a free agent, Looney spent the past 10 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, where he won three NBA Championships.
The Pelicans are in Orlando for their final preseason game, which can be caught via livestream at Pelicans.com.
