Unpacking the Twist in Gen V
'Gen V' creator Eric Kripke discusses the major twist in episode 7, where Dr. Thomas Godolkin is revealed to be Cipher.
The twist shows that Dr. Godolkin has been masking himself as Godolkin University dean Cipher, and his plan was to train Marie to become strong enough to obtain the power of healing and/or resurrection.
Dr. Godolkin removes himself from his host (Cipher), whose real name is Doug Brightbill, after tricking Marie into bringing him back to his original form.
Franchise Future
Kripke also charts the franchise's future after 'The Boys' and answers how much time has passed between the end of 'Gen V' Season 2 and the beginning of 'The Boys' Season 5.
