Wild Fall Short in Dallas
The Minnesota Wild lost 5-2 to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night at American Airlines Center.
Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov scored power-play goals in the third period, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. Zeev Buium registered two assists, while Filip Gustavsson turned aside 20 shots in the loss.
Jake Oettinger stopped 38 shots for Dallas, handing the Wild a 2-2-0 record on the season. The Stars' depth was on display, with five different players scoring goals.
The Wild fell behind early, with a costly turnover at center ice leading to the opening goal. Roope Hintz corralled the loose puck and charged down the left wing, feeding Esa Lindell a crisp pass to score.
The Wild's rally in the third period was not enough to overcome the deficit.
