Evanston Police Search for Suspect in Attempted Sexual Assault
Evanston police are searching for a suspect in an attempted sexual assault reported on the 1000 block of Dobson Avenue.
The incident occurred early Friday morning, near the intersection of Howard Street and Ridge Avenue. According to the police, a 27-year-old woman was attacked by an unknown man who pushed her to the ground.
During the assault, the offender attempted to remove the victim’s clothing and choked her.
The victim was able to fight off the attacker, and a neighbor responded after hearing her screams. The suspect fled eastbound toward Ridge Avenue.
Evanston Fire Department paramedics treated the woman for minor injuries at the scene.
