Karnataka Woman Librarian Dies by Suicide Over Unpaid Salary
A 40-year-old librarian, Aggimath, took her life at the state government-run library 'Arivu Centre' in Kalaburagi district, Karnataka.
She had been working as a librarian for six years and was facing severe financial distress due to three months of unpaid salary.
She stated in her death note that she was taking the extreme step due to unpaid salary.
- Her family alleged that despite repeatedly approaching the authorities about the pending salary, there was no response.
- The BJP blamed the Congress-led government over the incident, stating it exposed its “bankruptcy”.
