CCSD Bus Driver Found at Fault in Fatal Crash
A week after the tragic death of 12-year-old Haylee Ryan, a new report sheds light on the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Ryan was riding her bicycle when a school bus collided with her. According to investigators, Ryan was traveling in a marked bike lane when she veered into the dividing gore lane to avoid a parked Chevrolet Tahoe.
The newly released 10-page traffic report indicates that the school bus driver was at fault. The report states that the front right part of the bus struck the left handlebar of Ryan's bike, resulting in the deadly collision.
The incident occurred on October 6, and the community is still reeling from the loss.
No comment from the authorities or the family has been released regarding the incident.
