The annual Cup meeting is set to take place this Saturday, with all roads in the state's north leading to Manangatang.
Racing at Manangatang has a rich history, dating back to Easter Monday, 1917, while the club itself was formed in 1948. Today, the club hosts one meeting per year, coinciding with Caulfield Guineas Day.
Manangatang's track is unique, featuring a circular design with constant turns. The 1175 and 1500-metre starting points are located outside a chute, providing a reasonably generous run to the bend.
"The track will run at a Good 4 and there is more grass cover I’ve seen in my life and a Mawsafe plastic rail was successfully installed on Monday to make the racing safer,"
said Manangatang Racing Club CEO, Aaron Garvie, as final preparations were underway on Friday.
