Oleksandr Usyk has made up his mind and will fight Anthony Joshua for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world, according to his promoter Alexander Krassyuk.
Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, has been linked to a fight with Joshua for some time, with reports suggesting it could happen as early as the spring.
However, it seems that Usyk and his team have now made a decision and are ready to move forward with the fight.
"He's made up his mind and he's going to do it," Krassyuk told Sky Sports.
"He's a very confident guy and he believes in himself. He believes he can beat Anthony Joshua and become the undisputed champion of the world."
Usyk has been on a tear since moving up to heavyweight, winning his first 15 fights in the division and putting himself in line for a title shot.
Joshua, meanwhile, has been on a bit of a slide, losing to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019 and then putting on a lackluster performance against Kubrat Pulev last year.
It's unclear when the fight will happen, but it's clear that Usyk is ready to take on the best heavyweight in the world and prove himself as a top-tier fighter.
As Krassyuk said, Usyk is a "very confident guy" and he believes he can take down Joshua and become the undisputed champion of the world.
Only time will tell if he's right, but one thing is for sure: the boxing world will be watching with bated breath as Usyk and Joshua face off in the ring.
