Toyota has officially unveiled the ninth-generation Hilux, one of the most eagerly awaited vehicle launches this year. The reveal occurred in Thailand, a significant market for Toyota’s pickup production and release.
This new Hilux arrives ten years after the current model debuted. It continues to be the best-selling vehicle in South Africa, produced locally at Toyota’s Prospecton plant in Durban. The global introduction is scheduled for 2026 and includes a variety of configurations.
The exterior showcases a refreshed look while keeping the recognizable boxy form, a signature of its identity. Notable design updates on traditional engine variants include a new honeycomb grille inspired by the Corolla Cross.
Slim LED headlights and LED daytime running lights extend across the upper front section. A black horizontal bar replaces the usual Toyota badge with bold “Toyota” lettering.
The Hilux remains a key player in the pickup segment with its combination of tradition and modern innovation.
