86-Year-Old Skydiver to Complete 1,000th Jump and Earn USPA Gold Wings

Kim Knor, an 86-year-old skydiver, is about to reach a remarkable milestone: her 1,000th jump. She will achieve this at Jump Florida Skydiving, a premier drop zone located between Orlando and Tampa, earning the prestigious United States Parachute Association (USPA) Gold Wings Award.

A Lifetime Passion

Kim's love for skydiving started early. At just five years old, she was inspired to skydive after her uncle brought home a military parachute from World War II. In 1959, she made her first jump at 18, after forging her parents' signatures to do so.

Trailblazer and Adventurer

Following that first jump, she sold her belongings, purchased a Eurail Pass, and traveled through 21 countries in Europe, fueled by her passion for parachuting.

Return to Skydiving

After taking a 37-year break to raise her children, Kim returned to skydiving in 2003 and has continued actively since. By 2023, with 545 solo jumps completed, she pursued earning her Gold Wings through tandem skydives.

Family Involvement

Kim's milestone jump will be alongside Hall of Fame skydiver and former USPA President. Her daughters, Tara and Holly, will also participate with their own tandem jumps.

“Kim Knor has made it her life dream to reach 1,000 jumps.”

This milestone reflects decades of determination and passion for the sport.
