Report: Orioles Are Signing Outfielder Leody Taveras

Free agent outfielder Leody Taveras has agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal with the Baltimore Orioles, according to reports by Jon Heyman of the New York Post and Spanish broadcaster Mike Rodriguez.

The 27-year-old switch-hitting center fielder batted .205 with three home runs, 17 RBIs, and a .530 OPS in 58 games this season splitting time between Seattle and Texas. He also recorded nine stolen bases in twelve attempts.

In 2024, Taveras appeared in 151 games for the Texas Rangers, hitting .229 with twelve home runs, 44 RBIs, a .641 OPS, and 23 stolen bases in 29 attempts. He was sent to Triple-A Tacoma by Seattle after June 7, where he posted a .280 average with an .804 OPS, 11 home runs, 69 RBIs, and 23 steals in 24 attempts.
