The Seattle Kraken faced a tough loss in their homestand finale, falling 6-1 to the visiting San Jose Sharks. Despite the defeat, the Kraken concluded their five-game homestand with a solid 2-1-2 record, earning six out of a possible ten points.
Collecting 60% of possible points on this homestand would have secured a wild-card postseason berth last season. The Kraken now prepare for a challenging weekend with back-to-back Central Division road games against St. Louis (4-8-2) and Dallas (7-3-3), followed by a three-game homestand that ends with another matchup against the Sharks.
Early signs were promising when Ryan Winterton scored his first NHL goal late in the first period, tying the game at 1-1. However, San Jose quickly regained the lead just over two minutes later and extended it before the first intermission.
"San Jose took some shine off the just-completed homestand in a lopsided win over the Kraken, who took six of a possible 10 standing points in five home games."
San Jose’s offensive pressure was relentless, handing the Kraken their first regulation home loss of the season.
