The 2026 World Club Challenge will take place on Thursday, 19th February, with Hull KR facing the Brisbane Broncos at Hull FC’s MKM Stadium.
This will be the first World Club Challenge hosted in Hull. The game will decide the world’s top Rugby League club, as the Robins and Broncos have each earned victories in the Super League and NRL respectively.
To accommodate more fans from the region, the match will be held at the MKM Stadium, which has a capacity of 25,000, rather than Hull KR’s own Craven Park, which holds just over 11,000 spectators.
Following their Super League win at Old Trafford, Hull KR now aims to claim international silverware and mark a milestone by playing Australian opposition for the first time in 40 years.
“With offers from around the World to host the game, we are delighted to bring the Betfred World Club Challenge home to Hull, allowing supporters, not just from the City but the whole region and beyond, the opportunity to see the world’s two best Rugby League sides go head-to-head.”
“With Round One of our title defence in the Super League, and a trip to Las Vegas for the ‘Battle of Yorkshire’ a week after the Betfred World Club Challenge, February is set to be the most exciting month in the club’s illustrious history as we take the Robins to the global stage.”
Author’s summary: The 2026 World Club Challenge sets a historic stage for Hull KR to host their first Australian opponents in 40 years, marking an exciting chapter for Rugby League fans in Hull and beyond.
