Fall Mack Days Fishing Event 2025 Wrap-Up
The 2025 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake, sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, concluded Sunday with a total of 19,144 lake trout entries, surpassing last year’s 18,414 entries.
Event Participation and Catch Breakdown
A total of 335 anglers participated, with 116 submitting one or more lake trout entries. The catch totals were divided as follows:
- Monday-Thursday: 5,369 entries, exceeding 2024’s 3,811
- Friday-Sunday: 13,775 entries, slightly below 2024’s 14,603
Winners and Top Anglers
Veteran angler Terry Krogstad of Kalispell earned the Top Angler title, submitting 1,206 entries with a 57.83 average over 18 days. The Top 10 anglers were ranked by their best 18 days of entries:
- Terry Krogstad (Kalispell): 1,206 entries (57.83 average)
- David Myers (Riverton, Wyoming): 986 entries (51.56 average)
- Larry Ashwell (Missoula): 1,007 entries (49.5 average)
- Julie Perkins (Kalispell): 1,027 entries (48.83 average)
- Jack Kirkland (Lolo): 803 entries (41.89 average)
- Patrick Casey (Townsend): 774 entries (41.06 average)
- Devon Burkowski (Kalispell): 760 entries (38.06 average)
- Richard Kreis (Huson): 663 entries (33.39 average)
- Lyndon Lee (Canada): 535 entries (27.67 average)
- Mike Benson (Lonepine): 516 entries (27.17 average)
Mack Days Bucket of Fish Contest
Jens Gran of Polson claimed victory in all three of the Bucket of Fish contests, totaling 93.65 pounds of lake trout.
