Erika Kirk became emotional discussing her late husband, Charlie Kirk, during an interview on Fox News on November 5. She reflected on their relationship and his mission before his assassination on September 10.
Erika spoke about the early days of their relationship and how she supported Charlie as his career grew, especially with his work at Turning Point USA.
During the interview, Jesse Watters showed Erika several video clips of Charlie. After watching one, she broke down in tears.
“It is the longest video I’ve watched of him (since he passed). Just give me a second.”
Jesse consoled her gently: “Take your time.” The broadcast faded to black as she struggled to control her emotions.
Once she regained composure, Jesse asked Erika about Charlie's mission.
“Charlie was on a mission to save Western civilization. Did you know that's what you signed up for?”
Erika responded:
“No, I did not sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life.”
Erika recalled the day before the shooting:
“He was at the office and we were going to meet for dinner beforehand with a dear friend of ours, who I wanted to just be with us and pray with us before the event.”
