Several Miss Universe contestants walked out of a pre-pageant event in Thailand after a heated confrontation broke out between Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, and pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil. The incident took place during a livestreamed session on Tuesday.
The argument began when Itsaragrisil asked all contestants to promote the host country on their social media accounts. Bosch declined, which visibly angered the executive.
"You are in Thailand," he warned. "You are in a game."
As tensions rose, Itsaragrisil accused Bosch of ignoring his authority and listening to the Miss Mexico directors instead. He then called her a "dummy" during the exchange. The executive repeatedly demanded confirmation that she would post about Thailand, but Bosch refused, attempting to explain her stance.
When asked why she was still standing, Bosch replied, "Because I have a voice," adding, "You’re not respecting me as a woman."
As the argument escalated, other contestants shouted in protest against Itsaragrisil’s behavior. Security was called to escort Bosch from the room, and as she left, she turned to the executive and said:
"As women, you need to show respect for us."
A confrontation over social media promotion at the Miss Universe event led to an on-air dispute, sparking solidarity among contestants after the executive insulted Miss Mexico.
