They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
This Remembrance Sunday (9 November), services will be held across Angus, including parades and the laying of wreaths, to honor all who gave their lives defending our freedoms.
If you have not already planned to attend and are able, I encourage you to join your community in paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
If you cannot attend, please take a moment during your day to quietly reflect—alone or with family and friends—and remember the fallen.
Tuesday is Armistice Day, another chance to pay respects. At 11 a.m., whether at home or work, please pause for two minutes of silence to honor the bravery and selflessness of our Armed Services.
We must and will remember them.
We also thank those service men and women who continue to serve both near and far. As they protect us, we will support them.
These past years have been marked by uncertain times and the harsh realities of war shown through various media.
This message calls communities to honor the fallen and acknowledge ongoing service, emphasizing reflection and collective remembrance during these challenging times.
