Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin and Media Associations Host Ethical Victim Reporting Webinar
Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin, together with the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, will host a webinar dedicated to best practices in responsible media reporting on crime victims.

The webinar will be moderated by Nela Kalpic, State Director for Marsy’s Law Wisconsin.
Focus and Topics
The session will highlight recommendations from the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) guide for reporters, including:
- Best practices for interacting with victims
- Protecting survivors from unwanted attention
- Using survivors’ stories to achieve positive outcomes for both reporters and victims
It will also connect these guidelines with Wisconsin’s Marsy’s Law constitutional amendment, which guarantees victims’ rights such as privacy, notice, and participation in the justice process.
“The webinar will focus on protecting survivors and leveraging their stories to benefit both the reporter and the survivor,” said the National Center for Victims of Crime representative.
