Will Novak Djokovic participate in the ATP Finals this year? Following the official draw for the 2025 tournament, Djokovic now knows which opponents he could face if he decides to join. The 24-time Grand Slam winner has yet to confirm his entry, having withdrawn from the event last year.
Currently competing in Athens, Djokovic opened his campaign there with a victory. He stated that his final decision about Turin will come later this week. However, he has now received a strong signal that may motivate him to participate.
“Djokovic could be eyeing one of Jimmy Connors’ records at this late stage in his career.”
Coincidentally, Djokovic was drawn into the group named in honor of the American legend, Jimmy Connors. As the fourth seed, he will share the group with Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur. The ATP Finals bring together the world’s top eight players, and this particular group may give Djokovic the push to join the field in Turin.
Djokovic holds a favorable record against each of these rivals, including a notably dominant 11–0 streak versus Fritz. He also overcame De Minaur in their latest Wimbledon encounter. Although Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in their recent US Open clash, the overall balance still tilts in Djokovic’s favor.
Djokovic, evaluating his fitness and motivation, may find renewed inspiration from the ATP Finals draw pairing him with familiar rivals in a group honoring Jimmy Connors.
