Teenager Dies in Single-Vehicle Collision in Co Cork
A teenager has died following a single-vehicle collision in Newmarket, Co Cork, on Saturday night.
The collision occurred at Scarteen Lower after 11:20 p.m. when the vehicle left the road and struck a ditch, fatally injuring the driver, a man in his late teens.
A male passenger, aged in his teens, was uninjured in the incident.
- The body of the male driver has been removed to the mortuary in Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
- A full forensic collision investigation will be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators (FCI).
- The road is currently closed with local diversions in place.
Gardaí at Mallow Garda Station are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision to contact them.
