A 20-year-old G-class driver, Emily Lachance, has been sentenced to a fine of $1,000, a one-year licence suspension, and mandatory addiction counselling after pleading guilty to impaired driving.
“Miss (Emily) Lachance: you have a bright future ahead of you,”
said Ontario Court Justice Tanya Farkouh Martin. The judge emphasized the importance of counselling, stating
“Now is the time to make changes.”
Lachance will be under a nine-month probation order, during which she must undergo treatment for alcohol and drug abuse as directed.
