Disney Revives Live-Action Tangled Movie Plans
Disney is moving forward with a live-action Tangled movie, with plans to cast a major Hollywood star as Mother Gothel.
According to Variety, the project was previously put on hold, but is now back in motion.
Casting hasn’t been solidified, but Scarlett Johansson is being eyed to star as Mother Gothel, the outlet revealed.
Original Tangled Movie
The original Tangled, released in 2010, retells the fairy tale of Rapunzel, starring Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively.
Potential Cast
While the studio is still searching for an actress to play Rapunzel, supermodel Gigi Hadid revealed to Vogue that she auditioned for the role, saying
I was really proud of my scene. She jokingly added that
The singing…I knew they were going to go with a real singer.
