Peil For All goes from strength to strength in O’Mahonys | Meath Chronicle

Peil For All Grows Stronger at Navan O’Mahonys

Navan O’Mahonys' Peil For All team held their end-of-year exhibition game at Paddy O’Brien Park earlier this month. This initiative, led by Kate O’Neill and now in its fourth year, continues to thrive.

Team and Training

About 20 adult players have trained weekly since March, with additional players from various sections of the club joining the match. The game provided a great chance for players to showcase the skills they have developed this year.

Awards and Recognition

After the match, Meath Ladies goalkeeper Robyn Murray and Meath Ladies under-20 captain Sarah Maguire presented medals to the players. One of the coaches, Aaron Coyle, awarded personalised gear funded by his 2024 Dublin Marathon run.

Highlights of the Year

The event marked the culmination of a successful year that included a special training session at Croke Park. The Peil For All Programme is available to all adults with physical and intellectual disabilities free of charge.

Looking Ahead

Training will resume in spring 2026, and new players are warmly welcomed to join. The club also runs a similar program for children, led by Health and Wellbeing Officer Eunice Murtagh.

“Peil For All is open to adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, and there is no fee to participate.”

Author's summary: Peil For All at Navan O’Mahonys empowers adults with disabilities through inclusive training and community support, fostering growth and opportunity year after year.
