Davina McCall Supported by Celebrity Friends After Cancer Diagnosis

Television presenter Davina McCall, 58, shared on social media that she had undergone a lumpectomy after discovering a lump that was later confirmed to be cancerous. The procedure took place just a few weeks ago, and she has since received a wave of encouragement from fans and celebrity friends including Amanda Holden and Penny Lancaster.

McCall explained that the cancer had been caught very early, and although it was removed successfully, she would undergo five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution to stay cancer-free. She previously underwent surgery in November 2024 to remove a colloid cyst, a rare benign brain tumour.

“I was very angry when I found out, but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now.”

In her message, Davina expressed gratitude to her doctors, nurses, family, and fiancé Michael Douglas for their support throughout her treatment. She ended her post urging others to stay vigilant about their health.

“The message here is: know your boobs. Sending out huge love.”

McCall first spoke publicly about her diagnosis at her Dine With Davina charity event in Southampton, where she described the moment she decided to get checked after repeatedly noticing a lump despite reminders from a colleague.

“Lorraine Kelly had put signs on the backs of all the doors saying ‘check your breasts’, and every time I went for a wee I did that. It was still there, and one morning I saw myself in the mirror and thought, ‘I’m going to get that looked at.’”
