Free agent center Precious Achiuwa has signed with the Sacramento Kings, as reported by Shams Charania of ESPN. The 26-year-old forward-center, entering his sixth NBA season, will fill the roster spot left by the expected release of Isaac Jones.
Achiuwa was originally chosen 20th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Draft and most recently played for the New York Knicks. He has also spent time with the Toronto Raptors. Over five NBA seasons, Achiuwa participated in 320 regular-season games, posting averages of 7.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in approximately 20 minutes per game.
During the 2024–25 season with New York, he appeared in 66 games, including 10 starts, contributing 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest. Before joining the Kings, Achiuwa had been waived by Miami prior to the 2025–26 campaign.
“Several EuroLeague teams had expressed interest in Achiuwa before his commitment to Sacramento,” reported Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.
Meanwhile, Isaac Jones, age 25, averaged 1.0 points and 0.7 rebounds in 5.7 minutes per game during his second season with the Kings.
Precious Achiuwa, after brief stints with multiple teams, continues his NBA journey by joining the Sacramento Kings ahead of the 2025–26 season.
