High Lander and Thai Partners Launch National Drone Delivery Pilot in Bangkok

Thailand has launched a national drone delivery pilot in Bangkok, led by NT, CAAT, and High Lander Aviation. This marks a significant step toward building a national drone infrastructure, demonstrated through a large-scale aerial delivery showcase in the city.

The event, titled “The New Era of Drone Delivery,” was organized by Thailand’s National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), and High Lander Aviation, a global provider of unmanned traffic management (UTM) systems.

Collaboration and Technology

The partnership between NT and High Lander highlighted how coordinated UTM technology can safely support drone operations in complex urban environments. High Lander’s Vega UTM platform was integrated with NT’s advanced 5G network, enabling real-time visibility, flight coordination, and safety assurance for all participating drones.

Operators could monitor live telemetry, receive flight authorizations, and autonomously avoid airspace conflicts. During the demonstration, dozens of successful deliveries were made, including medical and agricultural supplies as well as consumer goods.

Regulatory Perspective

“CAAT’s role is to regulate aviation safety and promote the advancement of the aviation industry. Supporting innovation and technological development in unmanned aircraft and related systems is a key part of our mission,” said Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the CAAT.

Summary

Thailand’s national drone delivery pilot in Bangkok demonstrates a major leap in urban drone logistics, combining advanced UTM technology, regulatory support, and real-world application to shape the future of aerial delivery.
