Shadowlands with Hugh Bonneville to Run in the West End
The hit play Shadowlands will return to the London stage in 2026.
Written by William Nicholson, the play is based on his 1985 television film of the same name and explores the relationship between C S Lewis, author of the Narnia series, and American writer Joy Gresham.
Hugh Bonneville will star in the production, which will be directed by Rachel Kavanaugh at the Aldwych Theatre from February 5 to May 9, 2026.
“Under Rachel Kavanaugh’s direction, I am thrilled to be revisiting William Nicholson’s beautiful play about love and loss as we bring the show to London audiences at the Aldwych,”
said Bonneville. Further casting and creative team are still to be confirmed.
