David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof is now available for ticket purchase. The revival stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle alongside Samira Wiley and Jin Ha.
Proof centers on Catherine (played by Edebiri), the gifted but troubled daughter of a renowned mathematics professor, Robert (played by Cheadle). Following Robert’s death, a notebook holding a groundbreaking mathematical proof is found. As arguments arise about who truly authored the proof, Catherine faces challenges related to legacy and self-validation.
Proof originally premiered off-Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club in 2000 before transferring to Broadway. It earned six Tony Award nominations, winning three, including Best Play. It also won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
