Samira Wiley and Jin Ha Join Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle in Proof on Broadway

Emmy and SAG Award winner Samira Wiley will make her Broadway debut this spring as Claire in the revival of Proof, David Auburn’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play directed by Tony winner Thomas Kail.

Grammy nominee Jin Ha will return to Broadway as Hal, joining previously announced stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle at the Booth Theatre. The production opens on March 31, 2026.

Samira Wiley’s Stage and Screen Career

A Juilliard graduate, Wiley recently performed at London’s Donmar Warehouse in Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel, following her appearance in the National Theatre’s Blues for an Alabama Sky. Off-Broadway, she starred in the 2016 production of Daphne’s Dive at Signature Theatre.

On television, Wiley portrayed Poussey Washington in Netflix’s acclaimed Orange is the New Black and completed production on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, based on Margaret Atwood’s novel. For her performance, she earned a 2018 Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress and received three nominations for Supporting Actress.

Jin Ha’s Theatre Accomplishments

Ha made his Broadway debut in 2017 in Julie Taymor’s production of David Henry Hwang’s M. The following year, he portrayed Annas in NBC’s televised Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, earning a shared Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.

Proof, directed by Thomas Kail, brings together an award-winning creative team and an impressive cast for its 2026 Broadway revival.
