Big Brother Australia’s provocative reboot on Network 10 is underway with 12 housemates entering the competition. Although the show aimed to feature “everyday Aussies,” one contestant has notable ties to the reality TV scene, sparking mixed reactions among fans.
November marks the return of Big Brother Australia to its original platform, Network 10, broadcast from the Gold Coast’s Dreamworld. The reboot hopes to attract longtime fans while drawing in a new generation.
The casting focused on finding genuine Australians, avoiding influencers known from recent reality shows like Married At First Sight and Love Island. Fans responded positively to the diverse group of participants competing for the $100K prize.
Despite casting intentions, some viewers discovered that 31-year-old model Holly Young has significant reality TV links. She describes herself as a “unicorn” and was previously involved with Luxe Listings star Gavin Rubinstein.
“Major influencer vibes.”
According to Daily Mail Australia, Holly and Gavin publicly began their relationship in August 2024 but separated a few months later.
The presence of a contestant with strong reality TV connections adds unexpected drama to Big Brother Australia’s fresh season, challenging the show's promise of featuring only everyday Australians.
