Attempted Child Sexual Communication Accused Caught in Online Sting
A 47-year-old man from County Tyrone has appeared in court on charges related to attempted sexual communication with individuals he believed to be young girls.
John Michael Timoney, from Innisfree Gardens, Strabane, is charged with two counts of intentionally attempting to sexually communicate with two girls, one believed to be 12 and the other 13, for his own gratification.
He is also charged with arranging to have a child under 13 engage in a sexual activity, with the alleged offense occurring on September 11.
No details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged offense were disclosed during the hearing at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court.
Timoney spoke only to confirm his identity and that he understood the charges against him.
