The Brit 50: Riff Raff Entertainment

Actor Jude Law and his producing partner Ben Jackson have built Riff Raff Entertainment into a boutique yet ambitious production company. The two met in a Primrose Hill pub in London in 2000 and formally launched the company in 2017.

Background and Expansion

Riff Raff gained recognition through its first major production, Harry Wootliff’s True Things (2021), followed by an investment from Calculus Capital in 2022. The company produced Justin Kurzel’s The Order before the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes, and later returned to shoot the Netflix series Black Rabbit.

Strategic Partnerships

The company has secured a first-look deal with Anton for film and with Studio TF1 for television, strengthening its creative alliances.

“It’s win-win for us,” says Jackson of the dual partnership. “We can take a project to them and they can place it with the team that connects with it.”

Upcoming Projects

Future Vision

Riff Raff plans to open an office in Los Angeles, aiming to cultivate a slate of writer-led projects that reflect diverse creative voices.

“We’re hoping to expand through the involvement and the tastes of the people who are leading the development team,” says Law. “Nurturing other people’s ideas and passions is key to our long-term survival.”
