Ken Jennings, the well-known host of Jeopardy! and former University of Washington (UW) student, recently visited his hometown area to promote his latest book of puzzles. The show remains a television favorite, attracting over 5 million viewers nightly, with Jennings playing a major role in its enduring popularity.
Jennings was born in Edmonds, Washington, and spent part of his childhood living in South Korea and Singapore. Before his game show fame, he worked as a computer programmer. More than 20 years ago, Jennings became a contestant on Jeopardy!, dazzling audiences by winning 74 consecutive games and becoming the top American game show earner.
His friendly nature and impressive achievements helped boost the show's ratings and media attention. Following the death of longtime host Alex Trebek in 2020, Jennings was a natural choice to take over hosting duties.
Jennings is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended the University of Washington for a few years before serving a mission in Spain. He then transferred to Brigham Young University (BYU), where he completed his degree.
Recently, Jennings visited Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park to promote The Complete Kennections: 5,000 Questions in 1,000 Puzzles, his first trivia book release in over ten years. He signed copies for fans and engaged with a large local audience.
