Southeast Notes: Spoelstra’s Home Fire

The Miami-area residence of Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra was engulfed in flames shortly after the team returned from a road games trip. A two-alarm blaze erupted early Thursday morning at Spoelstra’s multi-million dollar home, according to Milena Malaver, Carl Juste, and David Neal of the Miami Herald.

The team and Spoelstra landed back from Denver at 5 a.m. ET on a chartered flight after completing a four-game road trip. Firefighters were dispatched to Spoelstra’s Miami-Dade home roughly 25 minutes before their arrival.

Located on a 43,000-square-foot lot, the house sold for $6.6 million in 2023. It features five bedrooms, a swimming pool, and tennis courts. Firefighters battled the flames for over four hours. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
