Mail Service to Canada Will Resume Next Week

Mail deliveries from Bermuda to Canada are set to resume next week as the Canada Post strike continues on a rotating basis. A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) confirmed that shipments will restart on Monday, although some delays remain likely due to ongoing disruptions.

“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this time.”

Mail services to Canada had been suspended since late September because of the nationwide strike at Canada Post. In October, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers announced the suspension of the full-scale strike, replacing it with rotating walkouts to allow deliveries to continue in most regions.

The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local branches will close at noon tomorrow for an internal staff event.

“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
