Kim Knorr, 88, has made skydiving a lifelong passion, recently reaching the remarkable milestone of 1,000 jumps. She earned the prestigious United States Parachute Association (USPA) Gold Wings Award at Jump Florida Skydiving, located at Lake Wales Airport.

The 1,000th jump took place during the 2025 International Skydiving Hall of Fame Celebration, attracting hundreds of skydivers from around the world. These enthusiasts gathered at Jump Florida Skydiving Center to honor Knorr’s achievement.

Knorr's passion for skydiving started early. At five years old, after her uncle returned with a World War II military parachute, she knew the skies were her calling. For her 1,000th jump, she was joined by Hall of Fame skydivers and former USPA Presidents.

Her daughters, Tara and Holly, also participated by making tandem jumps on the same flight load, sharing in their mother’s passion for the sport.
