Antonio Brown, former NFL wide receiver, once again made headlines in the United States due to his involvement in a criminal case. The 36-year-old was arrested in Dubai and is set to be extradited to Florida on charges of attempted homicide linked to an altercation that occurred in Miami in May 2025.
The confrontation took place during an influencer boxing event organized by streamer Adin Ross. Reports indicate that following the match, Brown allegedly seized a handgun from a member of the security team and fired twice at a man he had previously fought with.
Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, the alleged victim, told investigators that one of the bullets grazed his neck.
After his arrest, Brown was taken into custody and transported to Essex County, New Jersey. He awaits a judicial ruling on his transfer to Miami, where the incident took place and where he will face trial. Miami Police spokesperson Mike Vega confirmed the arrest on a charge of second-degree attempted homicide connected to the May 16 shooting.
Under Florida law, a conviction for second-degree attempted homicide can lead to a prison sentence of up to 15 years and a fine of as much as $10,000. Brown asserts that he acted in self-defense, claiming he was attacked and threatened with death during the encounter.
