The University of Toronto community will come together on November 11 to observe Remembrance Day, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Each of the three campuses has organized events to honour soldiers and veterans from the First and Second World Wars, as well as other conflicts. All members of the U of T community are invited to participate.
Flags across U of T's three campuses will be lowered to half-mast to pay tribute to those who served, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Service of Remembrance will occur at Soldiers’ Tower. The proceedings start at 10:10 a.m. with a carillon recital by composer and performer Naoko Tsujita, followed by the official ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
Wreaths will be laid by representatives from the university and the wider community.
